Ansar Oil Refinery (AOR) is a medium size of oil refinery, which is designed and manufactured by Petrofac LLC, USA, Texas, at year 2000. Petrofac is the largest producer of oil refinery in the world and this factory is designed to be very friendly to the environment. The total investment amount which has been invested by the owner of Asem Holdings Limited in this project is $15.53 Million from 2012 until 2016. The factory started its operation in Oct 2018 with the annual turnover of $21.43 Million in 2019. There is no operation since March 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic, lockdown, borders closure and crude oil collapse.

It is designed to be installed into the residence area with no risk of health, safety and environmental pollution under the production certificate of 41 – PK, L510. The factory is located in Herat, Afghanistan with annual processing capacity 180,000 MT of crude oil products which will be according to Afghanistan National Oil Standard such as Gasoline (80 -92), Diesel (Euor 2-3) and Mazot. This factory has been already sold.
